The holy river Ganges and her tributaries flow past the four dhams that are located in the state of Uttaranchal in North India . It is believed that Goddess Ganga descended on Earth in the form of a river to help the suffering humanity. It was split into four channels that include Alaknanda (in Badrinath), Mandakini (in Kedarnath), Bhagirathi (in Gangotri) and Yamuna (in Yamunotri).
Each of the four dhams is blessed with spellbinding scenic beauty and countless ancient temples. Every year, countless tourists from across the world come to these places in search of peace and tranquility.
Day 01: Delhi - Haridwar

Early Morning leave for Haridwar.On arrival check in to the hotel. In the evening visit Har-ki-Pauri and enjoy evening Aarti. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: Haridwar - Mussoorie - Jhanki Chatti (260 Km | 7hr)
Take early morning bathe in the Ganges and have breakfast. Drive to Jhanki Chatti via Mussoorie - 'The Queen of Hill Stations', enjoying the spectacular views of the Himalayas.
In Mussoorie visit Landour Bazaar, Chaar Dukaan, Lal Tibba, Gun Hill, Camel Back Cemetery , and Mussoorie Library. After sightseeing drive to Jhanki Chatti. Reach Jhanki Chatti in the evening. Check in at hotel for overnight stay.
Day 03: Jhanki Chatti - Yamunotri - Syana Chatti: (5 Km by road & 13 Km trek (one side) )
After breakfast, early morning trek to Yamunotri to visit Yamunotri Temple . Maharani Gularia of Jaipur built the temple in the 19th century. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again. Before entering Yamunotri Temple worship at Divya Shila , a rock pillar. En route visit Hanuman Chatti , the confluence of Hanuman Ganga and Yamuna River . Take bath in the warm waters of thermal springs in the vicinity of Yamunotri Temple that flow into numerous pools. The most important of these is Surya Kund.
Day 04: Syana Chatti - Gangotri

Morning after breakfast drive to Gangotri via Barkot . To the lovers of nature, Barkot offers every charm of mountains and valleys. A magnificent view of the eternal snow peaks of Bandarpoonchh can be seen from here. Reach Gangotri by late afternoon. Overnight at Gangotri.
Gangotri is in the hinterlands of the Himalayas , where it is believed; the river Ganges touched earth for the first time. At the legendary source of the river, Goddess Ganga is worshipped in the form of a deity. Gangotri Temple was built in the early 18th century by a Gorkha commander, Amar Singh Thapa and later rebuilt by the Maharaja of Jaipur. By November, Gangotri is snowbound. The deity is taken 25 Km downstream to Mukhba, so that her devotees are not thwarted.
Gomukh ,the identified source of the river Ganga , located at an altitude of 4200 metres, is 18 Km uphill from Gangotri Temple .
Day 05: Gangotri - Uttarkashi: (200 Km | 7hr)
Early morning visit to Gangotri Temple and Kedar Ganga Sangam , the confluence of the rivers Kedar Ganga and Bhagirathi. It is around 100 yards from the Gangotri Temple.
Drive to Uttarkashi, a pleasantly situated town on the banks of the Bhagirathi River . Overnight stay at Uttarkashi.
Day 06: Uttarkashi - Gaurikund: (250 Km | 9 hr)
Early morning visit to the sacred Vishwanatha Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Thereafter, drive to Gaurikund at an altitude of 1982 meter. According to scriptures, Goddess Parvati meditated here for a considerable time to win a consort in Lord Shiva. Gauri is another name of Parvati and Gauri Temple dedicated to her stands here. The temple houses idols of Gauri and Lord Shiva. Gaurikund is also the base for a trek to Kedarnath.
Day 07: Gurikund - Kedarnath: (14Km trek one side)

Early morning bath in the hot water pond and visit Gauri Temple . After breakfast start trek for Kedarnath. Reach Kedarnath by late afternoon. Overnight stay at Kedarnath.
Kedarnath Temple ,one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot, situated against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer. According to legends, the Pandavas after having won over the Kauravas in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull.
On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath , the face at Rudranath , the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar . Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.
Day 08: Kedarnath - Joshimath: (14Km down trek)
Trek down to Gaurikund from Kedarnath. Drive from Gaurikund to Joshimath. Overnight at Joshimath.
Adi Guru Shankaracharya, who came all the way from Kerala in the 8th century AD, performed penance under a tree here. After getting enlightenment, he established a Math (religious center) - "Joshimath". Narsingh and Nav Durga temples are located here.
Day 09: Joshimath - Badrinath
Early morning visit to Joshimath, Narsingh and Nav Durga temples. Drive to Badrinath.
Badrinath, also known as 'Badri Van', is situated at 3133 m above sea level. It is guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges - Nar and Narayan with the towering Neel Kanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries, from which it gets its name - 'Badri Van' forest of berries.
Situated here is Badrinath Temple , dedicated to lord Vishnu. The temple is 15 m high, built in the form of a cone with a small cupola of a bull and spire. Legend dates the temple prior to the Vedic age. A hot water spring - Tapt Kund - faces the temple. Check in at hotel. Visit Badrinath temple. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 : Badrinath - Srinagar
Early morning visit to Badrinath temple again. Thereafter, drive to Srinagar , the summer capital of Kashmir with its deep green rice fields and river bridges, gardens in bloom and lakes rimmed by houseboats. Check in at hotel for overnight stay. Evening free to explore Srinagar - Dal and Nagin lakes , Durga Temple, Pather Masjid built in 1620 by Empress Noor Jehan, Madani Masjid, Hazratbal , a monument which houses a holy relic of the Prophet, and the 304 m high Shankaracharya Hill that offers a panoramic view of the city, the valley and the Pir Panjal range. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Srinagar - Rishikesh - Delhi
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Delhi via Rishikesh. At Rishikesh, visit Ram Jhula and Lakshman Jhula. Reach Delhi by evening. Transfer to city center or airport to catch flight for onward journey.
